The Brussels Antiques & Fine Arts Fair
— Nov 29 2012
The Brussels Antiques & Fine Arts Fair (BRAFA) is set to wow visitors with a whole range of highlights and surprises, when it arrives for its 58th time in January 2013.
With a record 46,000 attendees during the previous event, the organisers have high hopes to once again attract large numbers of visitors to the forthcoming celebrations.
Set to take place on 19-27 January in Brussels spectacular Tour & Taxis building, BRAFA ’13 is supported by 128 galleries from 12 different countries, who will collectively exhibit thousands of works of art in every conceivable style. The art pieces will span several millennia of artistic design yet all represent the very highest quality and authenticity.
This classic fair will be using the diversity of its 20 specialist areas, cross-over effects and an eclectic approach to catch the eye of the most discerning visitors.
BRAFA always likes to surprise its visitors and for 2013, expect to see Archaeology taking a leap forward to become a major attraction in its own right, with eight specialist exhibitors of international level. 2013 also marks the debut appearance of a new specialist section; manuscripts. Admirers of this area of rapidly growing interest will find a wide selection of examples on the stand of the gallery Signatures (Paris), as well as those of the Chambre Professionnelle Belge de la Librairie Ancienne et Moderne, Librairie Thomas-Scheler (Paris) and Sanderus Antiquariaat (Ghent), famous for its antique maps.
Look out for the impressive Byzantine inspired entrance, designed by Volume Artichects in celebration of BRAFA’s tenth year at Tour & Taxis. The famous wall fresco artist Julien Colombier has also designed the pattern adorning the carpets in the three main aisles of the exhibition.
The Brussels Antiques & Fine Arts Fair has something for everyone, whether you are interested in paintings, sculptures, furniture, drawings, pre-Columbian or Asiatic art!
